tell him to check the pressure plate and the fly wheel. not olnly for alignment but for wear and tear and replacement. usually you need to replace some of that with a clutch on an older car. as a mechanich i see that....

Ok first thing to do.Find this guy and ask him about the parts'

what did he replace ? did he put in a rebuilt clutch kit ?

did he have the flywheel surfaced.Who surfaced the flywheel
and did the place who surfaced it add the correct step on the flywheel.Honda has a slight step up on the flywheel, not flat as American cars have.

I would take you car to a CLUTCH SHOP and have them re adjust the clutch. That may solve your problem,if after the adjustment is done and its still hard into gear it sounds like he installed a rebuilt clutch kit,or he just installed a clutch disc, ask him to show you a copy of the parts he replaced make sure they are new parts. You can email me with more questions about this repair. If your in Calif and near Sacramento I can tell you where to have your car looked at.

OK here is whats not in the trans OIL" that is the the prob..with the hard to shift... 10-30 oil. this is how the trans will shift proper and adjust the cable. tighten the nut at the base of the trans tell you have about a lill less than 1/2 inch of play with the clutch rod the peddle should have the same play at top when you push it down this will be correct on the adjust. make sure there is trans fluid in there it will burn your trans up.

OK number one did he put the clutch plate in the right way, because there is a right and a wrong way. and is the cable adjustment set right. is there enough oil in the gearbox. if the pressure plate is worn that can cause hard shifting due to the springs that engage the clutch plate being worn. good luck with it and i hope it works out.
