1 GB = 1,000 MB

On an MP3 player, each GB of memory can hold a little more than 250 songs. That means that a 4GB MP3 player can hold about 1,000 songs.

On a camera, I think they're actually talking about MP (megapixels) which is a measure of the resolution of the picture (how big, and therefore how detailed, it is).

So anyway, for your MP3 player, 1GB should be good as long as you only want to put about 15 albums on it.

Depending on the quality of the music files (or image files) more or less will fit on this amount of space. A reasonable quality music file can take up 4-5MBs. A nice size (high resolution) image is about 1MB. So if you have a 1GB camera disk (memory card) then you can take about 1,000 pictures.

Whether 1GB is enough for you depends on your preferences as to how many files you would like to store on the mp3 player at any one time. My understanding is that people who buy 20GB players never or rarely fill them up.

1 gb =1024 mb
1 mb = 1024 kb

A typical song will take up around 5 megs (medium - low quality). But a CD takes up around 700 megs One gig should be more than enough if you want to store 2-3 hours of hi-quality songs. Otherwise go for higher.

gb is larger than mb... the higher the number... the more space... so if u are a audiophile and likes to carry around alot of music then a 1 gb will not be enuf... if u are just a casual music lover... then normally 1 gb should be enuf... 1 gb will carry around 200 songs

1GB = 1000MB and a mp3 song is generally about 4-5MB, so you can fit about 170-200 songs per GB. Hope that helps.
