a hate crime being committed, would you try to help the victim personally or just call the police and hope the victim made it till the police arrived?

I would help...I once helped a child who was elbowed by his father in the car parked beside me, the kid was bleeding badly. I was so angry that I took his child and forgot my own in the car...LOL
Of course it didn't take long for me to remember him but you understand my point...LOL

I'll answer this one from experience...i once saw a person being beaten up by another person...i didn't know when or how i decided to help...but i found myself helping the victim by moving the person who was doing the beating away...
I am usually a very mild person, and i don't get into trouble...but till this day, i wonder how i got the courage to just stop the beating and take the victim away and make her sit down till the cops came...i guess it was like an instinct...i didn't think about it...i just did it!!!

It depends on how many people and whether weapons are involved. If it is something that I personally can handle and stop, then I would immediately help the victim.
However, if it is otherwise, then I will call the police and then afterwards scream "FIRE" at the top of my lungs to draw the attention of others.

i'll call the police and..not only that..i will make sure juctice is served...cuz if he still out there..the crime will be done again and again...and..i 'll make sure the victim is safe and i'll make sure the victim has full protection during the trial(well the police must give protection)

It depends on the situation, I would definately call the police, definately stay to give my statement, and would help the target if I could without making things worse.

Both....to the best of my ability.
I was being abused once and screamed out an open window in an apt. complex for people to call 911......nothing. How sad.
I would do what I could.
