I have awful teachers this year, all of whom are making it extremely difficult for me to take an interest in my classes and, thus, to get good grades. It's really making me depressed to have to suffer through this lack of learning everyday, and I'm sick of having an apathetic outlook on my education. Does anyone have any advice for me?

I'm only in high school, so the classes don't change with the semester, a quite unfortunate complication of my problem. :-(

Follow all the rest of advices to be psychologically interested, but what I am going to offer you will make you at least 50% more interested in your classes. It did to me, to my astonishment.

Someone once recommended me a technique called The Alexander technique, after which I realized that I walk and sit (especially in classes) in a wrong posture that makes me feel uncomfortable and not pay attention.

To be short, *sit errect*, having your back straight and your head a bit tilted upwards during your classes. This will have many positive effects, such as better breathing having more oxygen flow into the brain, and it will also help your blood circulation to move more smoothely. More or less, you will also avoid any back pain.

Try it even for one day, and tell me how you felt. You might also like to take a look at the source I provided you.

Bear with it for another semester, see if the material and the classes perk your interest more. A whole new teacher with a fresh set of eyes might be enough to change your mind. As for the moment, try doing your assignments early so you don't need to rely on the classes to keep up-to-date and you can nod off a bit. Try not to be too rude to the teacher and your other classmates, though! Maybe if you keep yourself focused on writing thorough notes (and side-notes to your notes, and side-notes to your side-notes, etc..and diagrams if possible, and page numbers) you will keep on task a bit better during lengthy lectures. It may be boring, but you'll be tested on it eventually.

If things don't improve eventually, it's time to look for a new major or a new school. Remember, you don't just want a check at the end of the week, or a diploma after a few years of schooling - you want a reason to get up in the morning and an education and future job that you'll wholeheartedly enjoy.

Hope things work out for you.

I play games where I imagine them naked, or sometimes I masturbate to my homework, it seems to make me perk right up when I am in class for some reason. I also write down everything they say if they are really boring, so I can keep myself interested in what they are saying....well, its just what I do...

Whenever I get totally bored with my classes, I say the following mantra over and over: "Would you like fries with that?". Somehow that helps me keep my priorities straight.
