My friend want to sell me his Suzuki 2002 GSX-R 600 for $3500. Its in good condition, brand new tires and a brand new Yoshi pipe. The thing that concerns me is it has a salvaged title cuz it was stolen but then recovered. They stole lots of parts but he replaced everything. He also put in a new engine and it has about 7000 miles. Is this a good deal?

I would just trust your gut instinct. Is your friend one to screw you over? Have you taken the bike for a long drive. As in long enough for it to heat up and notice if there is a problem. If it runs good and you trust him. I wouldn't see why not. I don't know what the salvaged title would matter unless your going to try and resale it for a profit. I would just make sure that you can get it licensed and insured before you buy it. I wouldn't know about that stuff seeing how I've never licensed something with a salvaged title. Well good luck with it. I hope your happy with your decision. Have fun.

I'd say that's a good deal if it's running well. 3500 is a reasonable price, but check www.kbb.com and look up the year make and model of bike to get a good idea of what you might expect to pay elsewhere.

Keep in mind that a stock GSXR 600 has over 100 horsepower and is a very powerful street machine. Please be careful.

Good luck and happy riding.

heck yeah its a good deal.

better check with your insurance company first, prior to buying and see if you can afford the insurance on it. make sure you have a good mechanic check it over.

otherwise, pick it up 7000 miles on a 2002 gsxr? so what if its salvaged.

the only thing you have to worry on salvaged bikes is if it ever crashed or its frame was bent.

bikes are not worht buying brand new, btw.

I'd have it checked out at a shop your friend shouldn't mind that if there's nothing to hide. Plus, go to nada.com and find the book value for this bike. Be safe.

i say you shouldn't buy it. you never really know if it's all covered. i prefer you buy a new one, there is a very low chance of you getting in trouble or ending up in jail. and if you buy the one your friend is selling to you, there is a possibility and there are high chances of you getting arrested for that motor vehicle, and also they might accuse you of all the stolen parts.
