i think so too .. with makeup/haircolour and colour contacts i think can change a person appearance too..
eg.. for me i'm south east asian but with makeup and lighter hair colour i look pan-asian /bi-racial .. add some thick eyeliner and green contacts i end up looking middle eastern..with no eyeliner and white eyeshadow i end up looking chinese..
this is what people say ..about me having different faces until they dont know which is my real face. ..
cannot imagine what if the world will be like if there is no make up / hair dye/styling items or cosmetic coloured lenses..

some mite say the attention given to me was of the wrong reasons due to my looking horrifying due to my lighter hair colour and contacts.
its not what i think i look good. its compliments from others and some strangers who asked about my ethnicity coz i look different.

I don't believe that it is powerful. But i do believe it can change a persons apperance.
I personally don't wear makeup (except for dance competitions) but I do color my hair alot. Naturally I'm medium brown, but for about the past 5 years I've been a lot of different colors (except blonde because that would kill my hair alot). I don't think I was meant to be a brunette, I believe that my hair color should be black (which it currently is). I feel more confident with this color because it's not everyday that you see someone with jet black hair (at least where i live it isn't).
So yeah, i believe with the fact that it can change a persons appearance.

i totally agree with you. i don't wear it during the day but when i do put it on(the right way and the right colours for your hair skin and lips) i do like the result and my confidence goes p straight away, and you kinda feel the power that comes with it (as long as you're not too cocky or over confident, big turn off) and the compliments are great, especially if you don't wear it tooooo often, more startling to others that way. after all we have to be able to live with our own natural skin, and if we take care of that, it can only help. i hate bright red lipstick!!! and blusher that hasn't been blended right and foundation lines under the chin!!!

makeup is very powerful in many ways, i don't think it is a stupid comment. try going out in public without makeup (those of you who could never leave home without it on) and see how your personality changes, because it does give you confidence isn't this why we wear makeup? people also tend to treat you differently if you have a polished look with makeup that enhances your features.

defanitly people look completly diffrent when they change their hair ,makeup and eye coluour. I defenitly notice the diffrence when i change my hair and mak up i don't change my eye color but i've been thinking about it. you can defanitly look like you have adiffrent ethnicity than you actuly do. though it also depends on whatyou loook like to start with . i have a very youthful face but i also have bangs my bangs change my face completly and the rest of my hair has amind of its own constatly changing my look. I don't even know what my natruel look is because it changes so much.

Truly agree with you. Make up was used by Cleopatra to attain the looks she wants -POWER. I admire your courage and enthusiams in how you can look different from one to the next. I wish I am younger to enjoy what young are enjoying now but since I cant anymore, I cannot stop myself admiring. Goodluck and keep enjoying your beauty with the help of make up and your creativity.

make-up can change a persons appearance.. but wat matters most is the inner-beauty... and by using green contact lenses and using weird colors for ur hair or having too much make-up, u may think tat u will get alot of attention.. u r ryt but attention nt for how attractive u look, itz for how indcent and horrifying... just try the simple pink lip gloss, natural hair color and natural eye color.. maybe style ur hair and put some glitter spray.. glitter-purple-pink eyeshadow and ur usual foundation powder.... just try being simple and decent... then it will really change ur appearance.. for the better.. :)

Not necessarily.
Bone structure is most important.
If makeup were really that powerful, how come ugly girls still look ugly after makeup? And if it were that powerful, how come we don't all look like Catherine Zeta Jones?

Makeup can do wonders but not to everyone. Sometimes when you see movie stars without makeup, they look very plain.
