Recently when we use our shower, there is a steady stream of water running from the faucet, even when the shower knob is turned on full blast. It doesn't seem to be affecting the water pressure of the shower, but we'd rather that all the water be going to the shower head. What's causing this, and how can we fix it?

A new o ring at the diverter handle. Or a new facet washer.

I believe you are saying when you pull the knob on the bathtub spigot so the water goes to the shower, water still comes out the tub spigot. If that is the case, it's normal. A small amount of water will always come out the tub spigot because there is a flapper in the spigot that does not seal tight. It's made that way on purpose.

Sounds like the valve that diverts water from the faucet to the shower is worn and leaking; time to get a new faucet/valve assembly.

Your shower head could be clogged a little bit. I've had this happen before and your best bet would be to use some CLR or similar product to clean the shower head. After that it should work like it should again.
