I swim every day on a swim team, and there are definitely good strokes and bad strokes

FREESTYLE=The best stroke there is. You can go easy, hard, medium, work on technique, warm up, warm down, etc.

BUTTERFLY=Pretty much awesome. Love the stroke, but it makes your arms sore...

BREASTSTROKE=There's not even one positive thing to say about breaststroke. It's the most confusing, the easiest to do wrong, the hardest, the slowest, the most technique-oriented, and just plain dumb. It should be completely eliminated from swimming altogether.

BACKSTROKE=After breaststroke is eliminated, backstroke should be called "rest-stroke". That's all its good for! Although its not as hard or technique-oriented, it's slow and i hate it. It's nice to do when you need a break though.

because of the powerband, two strokes, in my opinion are more fun to drive, but, you could end up going faster on the RMz. the rmz is a torque-y bike and the YZ is screamin powerful two stroke. if its fun and speed, learn how to ride the two stroke to its full potential. two strokes need more often maintenance, but every now and then you will have to change the piston in a four stroke and replace the valves.. and thats expensive! YZ 250 top end kit is only about 150 with gaskets and all. if you want fast.. (many people may call me crazy for suggesting this) get a cr500. .... in the end the rmz may be faster but its also a matter of opinion and driving style that could influence your lap times quite a bit. In that case, i would go with the YZ250. If your not limited by the displacement (ie 125, 250 or open class) get the YZ and if you need more speed you can get a big bore 285cc kit that will really make the bike fly. However, there are more zippy 4 strokes than the rmz in my opinion. The CRF450 packs a top end punch to be envied. but limiting it to the bikes you have displayed, i would take the YZ.

Freestyle, At least its the one I work on the most. Just can't seem to do a good breaststroke (my knees just dont' like the movement), Fly is fun but pretty hard, backstroke is just kind of boring.

While watching competitive swimming (like during the Summer Olympics), I enjoy the freestyle more than the others.

Yet as far as swimming myself, I prefer to swim using breaststroke and freestyle.

Butterfly is #1! Then breakstroke, then a tie for back and free. The way I see it is that back and free are the easiest to learn, so to be good at them, you have to be really good. But for butterfly and breastroke, not as many people can do it. And even less can do it well, so to be successfull at it it doesn't take as much training. But butterfly is the most graceful to watch anyway. As long as you do it correctly, but it does tire me out when I do only one length in a 25m pool!

Freestyle! Because it's the fastest stroke.
