No, thre have been wars for economic reasons. The results generally ended up with one nation being larger geographical.
For the most part I believe the wars are based on differeences of belief, based on fear. Often spoon fed to the public of the nations going to war. Different = evil theory, which after history is wriiten generally does not wash out in the end.
For the most part people do not want to go to war for the fun of it, unless provked. "If they are different and they live over there, who cares as long as they leave me alone" has been the motto of most farmers and herder nations. They really have more important things in life to worry about.

Economically we didn't need the oil or land just the friendship. We needed someone to pay for the twin towers. Iraqi an leaders allowed some of the most harden terrorist train in there country. Yes, I think this government needed to be removed. But in my opinion, War is man made. It starts fairly easy. As we move into current history lets take a look back at history. Americans usually stand for what is right, or perceive to be right. This country was a threat not only to Americans but all nations. Iraqi-ans were repressed by their government. Which leads to uneducated individuals who turn to religious factions or groups These groups are most always corrupt and terror based. Nobody really knows for sure if weapons of mass destruction were there or not. But I sure am glad we have Americans on the soil over there to contain the flames.

The initial American conflict with Japan began over an American oil and metal embargo that was a result of the Japanese invasion of Manchuria. Japan used this slight as one of many reasons to bomb Pearl Harbor. That's just one example, there are many others. Most European wars from the 16th to the 19th century were fought for economic gain. The Romans paid the army with whatever could be plundered from another region.

Yes, war happened mostly because of economic reasons.
In preparing war, countries have to invest billions of dollars
to acquire war materials and other logistics to sustain the
motives in going to war. Banks, financial/lending institutions
and their rich owners are jubilant. While casualties of war
are the most affected, be it the military or civilians, they are
the irreplaceable loss and it's hurting and causing mental distress to relatives...for the leaders, they have justifiable or
unjustified reasons to go into war.

well technically everything happens for economic reasons. but it really has to do with gaining resources or at least it used to be then it changed for ideas. the american revolution was for both resources and the idea of fairness.
