only if the death was not natural or caused by some kind of disease the person has had for a very long time. usually post mortems are done on 1/10h of nursing home patients that die, just to ensure proper care was given. However, Once I had 3 patients die in one night, and they did autopsies on all three since 3 on one ward in one night is unusual. However, if you request one, they will do it. they also try not to have to do autopsies on people whose religion forbids it, or whose religion says they should be buried before the next sunset, unless there are suspicious circumstances.

Well it depends on the law

but still according to the law in india on death the death certificate is necessary so for that the medical inspection is necessary and the doctor inspecting the body suspects anything wrong then the post mortem is done otherwise post mortem is not necessary in all cases and conditions
