i have a science project and i dont know where to search!!

sugar because it is food to the babies. That is why when you get an ant farm you feed them sugar water. IF you are trying to find the nest to kill them ? Take doublestick tape and put it in the area where the ants keep showing up and put a line of honey on the tape. The honey will stick to them and they will take it back to the nest directly and then you can kill the nest directly with some ant spray.

I think it depends on the type of ant. Some go for sugar, leaves, meat, etc. I haven't heard of cheese eating ants, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.

Sugar, because sugar (read Pollen) attracts animals as nature intended. Cheese is man made and is therefore foreign and not ingrained into the biological preference system as sugar is.
