My Christmas tree fell on me while I was moving around it. I noticed I had tree sap on my jacket after I had repositioned the tree. I have heard of using petroleum based solvents, but I am afraid that this may harm my jacket. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have always used FAST ORANGE hand cleaner for sap removal
from my hair, clothes, & skin.
it also works well for that stubborn grease in and around the oven and vent hood.
peanut butter would work on your jacket in a pinch, but might leave an oil spot.

Mayonnaise may work. Rub into the sap then wash with a grease cutting dish detergent such as Dawn to remove the greasy residue from the mayo. Process may need to be repeated a few times. This method works every time on your skin so it may work for fleece. I know it works on t-shirt type material.

I'd try putting the jacket in the freezer and then breaking the sap off when its frozen. It won't hurt the jacket.

fast orange took tree sap out of my hair, so my guess is it would take it out of your jacket also.

veggie oil or margarine will soften the sap so you may remove it with simple soap and water.

Try Goo Gone! That works miracles. You have to scrub a little bit, but it works!

naptha, like lighter fluid shouldn't harm fleece, I think that's the dry cleaners use in this situation!
