Stay in touch via e-mail, mail & a phone call every now & then. Come up with a contact plan - swap post cards - send greeting cards - photos.
Friends only stop being friends when you let them stop being friends. Don't!

stay in touch, call often, and visit. my best friend moved before the fourth grade but we stayed friends, we are both 19 now and we met in the first grade. distance can be overcome if the friendship is strong and worth it to you both.
