Yes. I can be very diplomatic in sticky situations.
When it comes to the emotional stuff ... fuggedaboutit! ;)

I am a better writer, but I really am a riot. People tell me all the time I have a great sense of humor. I enjoy being with the people and am also good at leadership. Not everyone has leadership skills, but it is more my training than anything. Since I studied Business Administration, I had to make speeches, present projects and head meetings. I lead a crowd in an interesting, dynamic way. I also went to Toastmasters, an excellent course.
Here are five suggestions for a good speech
1. Know know know your topic! Do your research and put some intelligence into it. Streamline the presentation and get to the point.
2. Add jokes, be prepared for conversations, rebuttals and accept commentary. This goes over well with the crowd. Look warm but in charge.
3. Watch facial expressions and body language. Don't treat them like it's the army looking for recruits. Don't 'get down' with them, either. I have watched many presenters fail at getting their point across with those two methods. Be in charge but act calm.
4. Wear a nice grey, black or blue suit. Make sure it has a nice flow and cut. Looking sharp is important and delivers the message that you are there to make a point.
5. Practicing in the mirror is for children. Go to church or a hall and get up onstage. Get a microphone. Get behind the box. Get used to it. Have a few friends come and listen to your speech. Let them adjust things for you, like phrasing and facial expressions and intonation. My wife often comes with me to the room at the church where Amnesty International has its meetings. I get behind the desk and then go on the portable stage. She sits at least eight feet away from me and criticizes. Works great for me. I smooth out my rough edges this way.

I've been described as articulate, although sometimes I think I'm too verbose. I know some more people who are much more creative verbally than I am.
