When I come to a stop, my car will sometimes shudder, then the check engine light will come on, and my entire car will stop moving. I can hit the gas pedal and nothing happens. I have to restart my car every time, and while that does the trick, I fear that it's doing damage to my car. I went to Midas and had it looked at, and they told me to take it to a transmission shop. So I did, and they replaced a selenoid, and said that would take care of the problem. Well, my car is STILL sometimes stalling when I come to a stop. I'm getting super desperate here, because nobody seems to know what they're talking about. Can anybody please help me?

get the "check engine" light tended to. You may have a sensor activating, or de-activating causing the engine to shut down.

I need to know the yr make and model of the car and type of tranny and engine size too. It sounds like the transmission speed sensor is gone south, depending on the yr of the vehicle if it has one. The valve body could have some gunk clogging the ports but I dought it. I believe it's the sensor, if you have an Auto Zone nearby they can help you, I'm an Auto Zone,Sr. Sales Rep at store no.1167 in Washington State.Best of Luck to ya! Michael T

How about getting someone to adjust the idling speed of your car. it sounds like the car does not idle when it is warmed up. adjusting the carburettor/injection to the correct levels should do the trick. while you're at it let them check the co2 levels as well, it might just improve fuel efficiency and then you score in the long run. good luck hope this helps.

Could be the torque converter is not working properly, staying locked up. The make, model and year would be good info for people trying to guess the problem tho.
