To get attention, no. For fun, yes, and have. My hair currently has purple streaks in it, lol.

Although, that's not intentional. I added black streaks, they didn't mesh well with my highlights and turned purple. Thankfully, everyone thinks they look unique and interesting, so I didn't have to hide my hair for the duration.

My normal hair style is unique enough, a calico mix of blonde, red, brown, auburn .... all different shades. Calico is the only term that defines it well. But once in a while to shake things up, I add color streaks, dye it a color opposite to what I've been for gawd knows how long, etc.

But no, don't assume that everyone who does these things does them for attention. More often than not it's pure boredom.

I had my hair all crazy when I was younger . Ten years before my time I guess bcuz what I looked like then is what goth looks like now . Only I just liked the hair color . I just like the clothes . I just liked odd looking things , but when people would stare at me , it kinda freaked me out . I wasnt used to attention . I was and still do prefer to be severly isolated from my peers . I dont care much for people and attention from them is the last thing I wanted . Which is why as of May this year Im am and have been BRUNETTE ! believe it OR NOT. or not .or not.

If you have to do crazy things to your appearance for attention, then you should probably work on self esteem before working on mixing hair chemicals. If you love yourself and just have a crazy side and you're just an avant garde artsy type, pink streaks would be cute.

I've put pink, green, blue and purple streaks in before. I put in crazy colors before I go to a rock concert.
Right now I have red streaks in it. I look just like my avatar, except my hair is blonde and red.
But, I wouldn't do it for attention. I do it just cause I like it.

NO! and that goes to include ...

I will NOT dye my hair to cover up the grey that I have either -- I've EARNED that Grey the hard way -- by surviving a short disaster of a marriage, and raising TWO disabled children on my own (besides the ex being violent and abusive, he also is a DEADBEAT DAD).

No way. When I dyed my hair crazy colors I was really shy and hated attracting attention to myself. I haven't done it in over 10 years since I couldn't stand people asking me questions about it and I realized I'd rather be able to sneak around unnoticed.

Not for attention, no.

But a week or two ago I bleached my hair and it was bright orange. That got me quite a few unwanted stares and gasps.
