I got a thing from Peta through the mail and it was saying how animals that are in shelters are turned over to companies for experimental purposes and it could happen to my pet if he ever gets lost. Is this true or do they just want my money?

It's true, but not as much as PETA wants you to believe.
PETA is a crock. They kill animals at their shelters.

It's definitely true. Watch the documentary called "Dealing Dogs". Your dog doesn't even have to get lost, people will sometimes steal them right out of backyards and such.
