Get a satin halter dress, very classic and cute. comes in a range of colors and you can have lots of fun with accesories and hair/ makeup/ nails

No clue since I have no idea about your body for what style will look best on you, or your coloring for what color dress will complement you.
Halter styles look good on every woman, regardless of her shape. Plus, they are much easier to dance in than a strapless, which tends to slip a bit.
Black and white are very common in formals, so I would go with a different color, and not red either, another common formal dress color.
I would go with a different color to stand out from the group, and a classy long style to turn some heads. Assuming that you have similar coloring to your avatar, I would look for a rich blue or purple color. I would also look for a skirt that will move easily throughout the night, not a sheath or trumpet that might restrict your legs. (Example styles)

a black pant,white shirt or top,then always wear a long black coat it looks sexy for every occasion in winter

i recommend knee length sleevless black number, with a black long sleeve shrug, fishnets (preferably in a bright color but w/e), with regular nude tights under them and knee high boots. HOPE U SCORE!! jk!!
