I definately think that generosity plays a major role in a person's life. My dad for example is the most generous person I know. He says that when he was young, his grandpa was always very generous and kind and giving with him so he picked it up from grandpa. So from this example, generosity can even influence others to take it into their character. While we're not millionaires, my dad can always find a way to take care of us and to help others around him. He uses his business as a way to donate and even donated to my school. "Why" you ask, well as I stated before, depending on how they developed the trait of generosity it really depends on the situation. My dad for example saw his grandpa as this great and kind giving man and he wanted to be just like him. you don't have to have all the money in the world, but a sea of warm intentions and a big heart that's not afraid to give away when you don't have much to begin with.

True generosity, in my opinion, is very very hard to come by. I do not think that it plays nearly enough of a role on peoples lives.
We might think we see generosity but allot of the time I think it is someone doing something good with the hopes that it will come back around to them one day. When someone is truly generous, they do not expect anything to happen to them for the act they did.
Many people do nice things, but it is for the wrong reasons and that is what really matters. I

Go to the mall and see what people are talking about during christmas shopping. I hear more me statements this year or Oh this is my present to myself. Generosity is there but I think it is only apparent to some when something bad happens to them or it's right in front of their face like 911 or Hurricane Katrina. People with true Charater will be generous all the time.

It does in some people. Greed plays a big part in others.
Generous people are generally not satisfied with life unless they are able to do good things and give without asking anything in return. It is nothing that can truly be explained. If you haven't given without asking anything in return, try it. The feeling of satisfaction and self-worth you get from being generous is unlike anything you can imagine. It fills you up inside.
It's addicting too. Kind of like a good golf shot. You can play 17 holes of bad golf and have one really good shot on the 18th hole. That one good shot will compel you to return to the golf course next time.

No man is an island, generosity starts from your backyard;
the art of giving is more than receiving...if you have enough
in life, share them to your neighbors and be happy and
contented of such deeds.
