That's up to you. As with anything, myspace can be a great tool and it can be abused.

Here's what I did...

Talked to them first of all and set up the following:
1) They must set up their space as private.
2) They must set me up as one of their "friends" (Yes, I created a myspace account for this.
3) Anyone that becomes one of their friends must also make me a friend.
4) I agree to allow them to vent and not hold it against them. (Boy do they - and I've held up my part.)
5) They must not use profanity or anything that they know I wouldn't approve of, and they should encourage their "friends" to do the same on my daughter's site.
6) They can only use the computer while I'm at home and available to monitor. (This doesn't mean I sit there and watch, but that I "can" watch.)
7) They understand that I can take away access to myspace and any other site if they break the rules.

Some would say this is too strong, but my daughter is 14 and I've seen some awful stuff on there. Others may say there is no reason to go to myspace. We all have our own opinions...

Well your allowed to have a myspace when your alteast 14 and if they has the responsibility then yes. Alot of people their age have a myspace and young even kids in 5th and 6th grade have a myspace. And MySpace is a site to communicate with friends and family I have one myself and i use it for communicated purposes, decorate layouts and find music. Its cool but make sure shes not addicted to myspace cause i know people who are.

My 12 year old is not allowed, my 14 year old niece is allowed. Her mom just made a rule that she has to have her daughter's password and she can check it out whenever she wants. I'm 30 and I use it for many purposes. I've found numerous friends from high school! Maybe you should start one and you can view your daughters page that way. Tell them to set it to private and also teach your children about how people lie about who they really are. Tell them to only talk to their real life friends on there. Also, drill into their heads that they should never ever agree to meet someone in person!!!!! If your kids are good kids and you trust them, then Myspace is fine :)

Yea, its safe, but the only risk I can see, is them downloading myspace garbage that brings viruses with them, its usualy features made above and beyond myspace directly. Basicaly, as a whole myspace is ok, I myself do not have an account, because I do not have the time to maintain one. but its cool.. But just be warry of the freaks and pervs out there, if they have friends from school and family on there go for it. But remember the same rule works here, "do not talk to strangers"

Myspace can be great and it can be scary tell them not to put any personal info on there like THERE ADDRESS OR PHONE NUMBERS theres a lot of creeps out there checking out myspace for unsuspecting kids. Just keep an eye on them an tell them about the dangers.

I have a 12 year old stepson & he is yet not allowed to get on MySpace. I think that if your daughters who are 15 & 16 have earn that trust with you then you could consider letting them be on My Space but only with the agreement that you know their passwords & that you will be able to sign on to check things out at any time. I would also let them know the dangers of who they choose to invite to their site & make sure that they choose their friends wisely. Hope this helps you with your decision.

what form of father shall we their youthful teenage daughter date a 21 year previous guy? this isn't any longer a sturdy concept. i'm no longer even effective what form of 21 year previous guy desires as much as now a female of 15/sixteen yet he would not be allowed in my domicile. A father would desire to guard his newborn. you won't have the ability to appreciate what this adult males intentions are in case you have the two only accepted him for 2 weeks. no you may nevertheless understand somebody particularly in that short volume of time. he will tutor you what he needs you to confirm approximately him, which will or won't be the fact. If he's so decent and accountable why does he p.c. to be with a newborn??? Please do your job and shield your daughter from pedophiles! in my opinion you're neglecting your responsibilities as a parent.

I am a parent and would allow my kids to have a myspace. I have my own so I can keep an eye on the teens that work for me. They are like my adopted kids.

yes why not.. my space is a site wherein you can find friends.. i start joining myspace, friendster, piclink and others when i was 16 and believe me, there are no bad things that they can get from it.. but there are some users who put their nude pics in myspace..(they should avoid these..) they should always be responsible in using the internet.,. :p

myspace is a cool site... :p theres nothing wrong with it..
