are you perhaps too far away from your phone exchange? the further the data has to travel the slower your speeds.

Sometimes it can take a while for the new speeds to get set. Mine took a few days after they said it would be done. I called the tech support and they were able to fix it.
Also give www.dslreports.com a try... their support groups often provide direct phone numbers to the tech areas.

Feel your pain, been through this same b.s for 6 months. varying broadband outfits promising the "up to" pitch. Had dsl.....sucked....had clearwire(bad.bad.bad!!!). Finally went with charter cable.3 megs consistent, and loving it!!!

try to run a closer phoneline to the modem and try to keep the modem next to the comp. also there are internet booster programs available
