It might be that you need a new thermostat. If you haven't heard anything crack, or boil over, or steam or anything like that, check into that or the possibility that you may be leaking anti freeze. Check those 2 things before you do anything else.

There are a few posible reasons.

They are that the thermostat may be stuck open, the bypass valve (the one that is connected to the heat selector) may not be working, the engine is low/empty of coolant, or, the problem that I am having, the clutch fan is getting too stiff.

For the clutch fan problem, newer engines have a clutch that is heat sensitive attached to the fan so when the engine is cold, the fan doesnt turn much so the engine heats up fast, but when the engine does heat up the clutch starts to engage and the fan turns more and cools the engine. When this clutch gets stiff, the engine doesnt heat up enough and the heater doesnt work well.

An easy way to test this it to either try to turn your fan when the engine is cool (the fan should be fairly free) or simply put a piece of paper in front of the radiator. If this helps, your engine is beeing cooled too much.

My guess is the thermostat is caught open no longer permitting the engine to warmth if the temp gauge isn't turning out to be .. in the adventure that your heater center grow to be undesirable it might leak and scent like antifreeze on your cab . engine temp would desire to be up over ninety , would desire to be like one hundred twenty five to one hundred fifty or so

On your heater hose is a valve that conects to your temp control. Sounds like its stuck shut, not allowing water to the core.

like that guy said, there might be a valve that opens and closes to allow the hot coolant to enter the heater core, or there might be a flap that opens to allow the hot air to come out

did you check the thermostat?if theres no anti-freeze on the floor or steam coming out your vents and steaming up your windshield, then its not your core.hows the anti-freeze,does it goe down?if it stays full then i would say change the thermostat.

Change your thermostat and flush the coolant system

I had the same problem. Your system needs power flushed. It is filled with gunky junk that is rendering your heater usless.
