I know some institutions charge you for a copy of your medical record. I want to know if there is a law stating the max amount allowed to charge a patient if they were to ask for a copy of their medical record. I ask this because I want to get a copy of my dental record and I don't want to be "scammed" into paying $10 per page (that was just an example). Thanks.

Hospitals have fixed rates for issuance of medical medical records and you do not have to worry for any extortionists.
