Why do ushers at sports games always stand with there hands behind there back ? is it there job ?

I suspect it's more some kind of military training. Ushers and other security types often have military background, so they're probably just standing at "parade rest". I still find myself standing that way from time to time, even 25 years after getting out of the service, and being a woman!
