Seriously, almost all the female news anchors around here are Asian, and most of the reporters - it's like this almost everywhere, even in the south. what attracts asian women to this job? is there a reason, sociologically speaking why?

Actually I kind of agree with 0800, but I will give you my guess. I'm thinking a lot of these ladies came from families where they were "pushed" academically. They studied until their eyeballs were ready to fall out of their heads, but had no idea exactly what occupation they wanted to pursue. So they ended up with impressive degrees but little direction in life. They turn on the TV and there is a respectable job that even they can manage. Their academic credentials get them a foot in the door as an intern or whatever and in a few years they are in front of the camera themselves.

In my town, there are three local news stations, and the white man dominates all three (with the exception of one black guy with a gay lisp who reads the weather.) So much for being EOE.

I have no idea. Its like asking why are most actresses/actors white? or why are most basket ball players black? Its just the way it is.
