I always get strange looks when i drive home from work playing loud heavy metal. Tha area where i live teems with people who supposedly like metal, but then only play rap or country in public. Am I the only one with the intestinal fortitude to do what I want? Why can't all these SHEEP understand that they don't have to do what everyone else is doing just cuz everyone else is doing it. I know they can make their own choices, but why do they all make the same choice at the same time?

You should see the looks I get playing stuff like Hypnoskull and Converter. Nothing beats pulling up next to some people blaring rap and cranking up some real metal like Meshuggah, or some old 80's hardcore, especially since my system is louder and cleaner. I swear, the looks are priceless. My wife and I will keep even with them driving down the road, laughing our asses off. To top it off, I drive a jacked up 88 4Runner in mint condition. Hahahahahaha.

Yea I feel you man... I have 3 10's in my trunk, and still listen to rap from time to time, but for the most part I listen to like Spineshank, Metallica, Tool, Staind etc.. and get the weirdest looks from people when I do. Rap and country are slowly becoming what mainstream is now, and even the rock songs are becoming lighter and lighter, so in turn all the kids today are hearing is "what's new". Could be worse... they could be playing like Britney Spears or Gwen Stefani at 60 Db LOL

that's because today's teens are comprised of white country hicks and black city kids who wanna be famous. It's not your fault, our country's economy is based on presuring others to do what we want! I am a 14 year old from Missouri and trust me, I know what you mean. I'd rather listen to a hard core, full out, head banging, heavy metal song from the '80s, than listen to the kinda sh!t people like that stupid country and that peice of sh!t rap, that people can actually pass off as music these days. I mean seriously, EMINEM? I agree with weird Al yankovic for a change 'Will the Real Slim Shady Please Shut The F*ck UP!!!!'

I've seen quite a few people in my city blast metal while in their cars. Just about everyone in my family does the same, except for my grandma who blasts light rock (weak). I guess people in my city love to play their music (of any kind) as loud as they can/ want and don't give a sh*t if anyone dislikes it.

It's rather unfortunate that the musical direction that kids today go in is dictated by their peers. And today's definition of "metal" is rather more inclusive than I thought.

I live in Orlando with the retarded "Ricans" that blast reggaeton. Nothing in the world sounds more welfare trash than that genre.

i get the same stares from these "wanna be gangstas". my response is simple: i turn the volume up, on my near zero distortion mark levinson to tune of led zeppelin. suddenly, i'm oblivious to anything that doesnt matter in life.
