-the basic problems faced by women during their periods vary from woman to woman physically. psychologically there may be a tendency to feel ashamed, or dirty because of the fact that our bodies are in fact getting rid of an unfertilized egg, garbage essentially. physically there may be cravings for salt or sugar (or both), acne, bloating (where the body retains water, usually caused by the excess salt intake), cramping (which is in essence the uterine lining sloughing of and the contraction to ease the lining out), headaches 9some women have serious migraines), clotting (where large clumps of blooder matter are ejected sometimes up to the size of a small fist) and some others...
-feelings toward sex for women are different too. personally sexual fullfilment is both physical and psychological. you can't have one without the other. if the mind isn't into the act then it won't mean anything if someone is between my legs and the seperation of self from the act is available through closed eyes and mouth. hope they like doing a corpse. but then that produces resentment of both parties. so to ensure that that doesn't happen women should probably tell their partners that enjoying sex requires more than sex. it would require the full appreciation of her being a participant of the act rather than an object just there for his gratification. the more he invests in her, the more she'll invest in him.

I have never had a problem with my period - no pain or emotional lability. I choose now (having had my children) not to have a period monthly because my lover minds the bleeding very much and it turns him off. I take birth control pills back to back so that I only have my period a couple times a year.
My sex drive is very strong during my period and a good orgasm alleviates any crampy sensations.
For me, sex is mostly an expression of love that comes from the heart (head). Sure, it's physical, but I have to have that emotional connection first. I find that I feel more loved and secure when I enjoy intercourse frequently.

I've alway been open to sex during this time it an be gross however the best thing to do is get in the shower. We feel grouchy and achy, however sex can allieviate a lot of the ramps associated with sex. I can't speak for all women but I know I can't go to bed just fo rthe sake of getting some. I have to have some type of mental or emotional tie to that person.

On my period, I am a sexual tigress. I find it a cruel trick mother nature played on us-giving us the highest sexual drive during, what is considered by many, a repulsive, disgusting, disorder. Too bad more men don't swim the crimson tide.
