No you should not. If you did not want to attend the school, you would not be happy there, and would most likely not excel. I turned down full scholarships to attend a school that I knew I would enjoy. Your education is going to be the basis for the rest of your career, you need to be happy with it.

Well, if the school didn't have much that would help you, like any classes that you could take, then it's not really a "waste of money" or anything. The best thing to do is find a college/school you want to go to, do everything possible to get a scholarship for that particular school, and work hard while you're there.
Try not to tell too many people around you how you turned down $50,000 lol.. they'll just try and make you feel low.

besides, its not as hard to get a scholarship as everyone makes it seem, you'll wind up in a good school with a decent amount of money. thats better than going to a useless school for free

I do not think so - you should hold on to your decision because you'd rather go to a better place.
You turned it down because of a principle, time will tell you whether it was the right thing to do or not.
For the moment, uphold your decision and don't worry about the money you rejected.
Cheers.
