stores outsource their box needs to box/cardboard manufacturers and get them shipped to their store. square boxes are easiest and cheapest to manufacturer unless you want to change or buy new equipment, presses, etc etc specially designed for circular boxes. however, a fully circular box is impossible to create because you still need a "hinge" at the back so that it can be opened and closed while remaining strongly intact. if you wanted to create a circular box you would need to pretty much slice off a side so that it can operate correctly. but then the pizza wouldnt even fit in the box unless it were big enough to fit a round pizza in anyway considering there's a slice taken out of the box and the box was considerably larger to make up for it. besides, why change something that works and doesnt need to really be changed anyways?

Square boxes can be made by using flat pieces of cardboard. To make a box that is actually round, you would either have to use a curved piece of cardboard, or multiple pieces which you would have to glue together. Also, where would they put the packets of parmesan cheese and hot peppers??

Square boxes are easier to manufacture, plus they can be shipped flat and then folded up into squares easily. It's harder to assemble a round box.

because its kind of complicated to make a round carboard box that folds up nicely... They would have to make it out of molded plastic or styrofoam.. I dont think that is profitable or environmentally friendly..
