They are still around. The New Black Panther Party is alive and well and their numbers are growing across college campuses. They are not as militant and in your face as the original Black Panther Party.

hm...that's a good question. i believe the black panthers all got old. i'm sure they're still around working here and there in one organization or another to continue educating the public. and i'm not sure, but i would think that they didn't continue their - would you call it a group? - because it was created during the civil rights movement to protect and educate the black community, and there isn't as much need for that nowadays. i mean, they for sure are still contributing to the black community and making a difference by raising their families to know their history. but, they were needed much more back in the day because they wanted blacks to know and understand their rights in order to be able to defend themselves against the injustices they were forced to endure then. i would look into it online or at a library if i were you. hope this helps!

They discovered that they could further their radical causes better by not being such a visible outlaw group, attracting attention from the cops, FBI, etc., but rather assimilating into larger mainstream groups, like the ACLU, Rainbow Coalition, the Democratic Party, and becoming college professors (look up Angela Davis on Wikipedia), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angela_Davis
and then slowly, methodically influence American politics in the direction of socialism and political correctness, which favors the agenda of radical 60's groups.
This has been much more effective than murder, burning buildings, & getting arrested for it. Lots of examples, like Tom Hayden, for instance.
