It could be adhesions. My sister had this after he c-section and they had to go in laparoscopically and remove them. This is possible that is what you are feeling it just depends on how the way your surgeon closed you up. I am a surgical tech and there are several different ways a surgeon can close the layers. Adhesions are most generally seen when the surgeon closes the peritoneum. Some doctors do not close it especially if the woman plans on having more children. This will make a repeat c-section easier and will minimize scar tissue, which can lead to surgical complications in repeat c-sections when it comes to making the incision.

I had a c-section too when i delivered my daughter last year. Three weeks is a rather short time for recovery. To be frank, I sometimes feel some pain or discomfort though my daughter is already one and a half years old.

If in doubt, why don't you pay a visit to the doctor. He can then confirm that everything is in order and you can have a peace of mind.

But just be careful. No heavy lifting for the first six months. There have been cases where the sticthes actually came out while some got infected.

Get well soon and enjoy the baby.

Congratulations and good luck!

Ouch memories for me as well I just had my daughter 3 months ago via c section and I had the exact same problem in the exact same spot it seams. But my incision was also infected. (not in the area with the pain) But anyways mine went away and nothing is hurting with it now. But it is still tender. Anything concerning an incision or pain needs to be addressed by your doctor for sure. Description of pain and severity can really be masked over the internet but it is safe to say if it is concerning you and your incision see your doctor for sure! But my pain which sounds the same as yours did go away just for peace of mind. Good luck and congratulations!

It took a good 2 months for me to feel not as much pains- or sharp pains. But up to a year after my c-section, I'd still feel pains (not nearly as bad as those 1st two months)... I think that is all common- it's a major surgery, and you were cut twice, so both of those have to heal- give it some time... I'm still a little nervous about having another baby-afraid I might have to have another c-section... it was terribly painful for me, but all worth it for a great blessing that came from it all. :) Goodluck!

Wow, this brings back memories.

You will find that the left is the side the doctor finished off and tied off on. I had the same problem with all 4 c-sections from the same doctor, as did my friend. A nurse explained that it is from his technique.

If you are worried then best to get it checked out for peace of mind.

I had 2 c-sections and the sharp pains stayed with me nearly a year because I had my daughters back-back. Just be careful how you lift or pull things to you this can cause the pain to intensify

Ouch....(memories)....
Oh....you will have LOTS of sharp pains...believe me.

Expect to not feel normal for another 8 weeks. Just relax, and let the time pass on its own....enjoy the time with your baby.

Believe me, you will have pains like that for what seems like forever, but after about 10 weeks, you will feel mostly back to normal.

I am 10 months postpartum from a cesarean. I am just now starting to feel like my pre-pregnancy self, but there are some things that probably will never go away.

I just happen to be a surgical technician. It could be infection. Infection is usally joined with puss or ooze and and inflammed appearance. You may also develop a fever.

It could also be that you have pulled some stitches loose. You didn't say if you have taken it easy or if you've been up moving furniture. But when in doubt, call your ob doc.

See your OB, sharp pain can be a sign of infection
