I have a pc with 2 hard drives, the slave drive I want to take back to europe as I am moving there in 2007, is it safe to ship to myself back home or safer to take with me on the flights back to europe.

Carry it in your hands..The arm? - don't touch it!!! Everything is SO delicate! Have fun getting it through the detector when you walk through it. You might very carefully hand it to the guard beore you walk through..AND MAKE SURE THEY TREAT IT DELICATELY!!! Put it securely in a box, one that the guard will want to open...to inspect what you have in the box.

Better to carry it with you because sometimes they scan goods which erases the hard drive completely... this is also why they ask you to remove your laptop from your bag during flight screening.

My uncle's camera was erased completely during one of such scans...

Ship it. Make sure you use one of those anti-static bags.
