Why use cheap products! Its your skin... you should have the will to spend some money on some good brand products... I think if you want affordable, you may try Cover Girl products! I heard they are really good and well priced.. I have tries some of their lip glosses and they are fun.

I suggest you get a tube of Mederma Scar Gel. It is greaseless and pleasant-smelling.

If you find Mederma to be expensive, you may purchase the store brand, which works just as well as name brand.

Good Luck ;-)

The best thing that I would think to use is Mederma. Although it won't eliminate the scar, it will definately lighten it. The sooner after the scar forms that you use it, the better. This is the only thing that I know of that is over the counter that has any kind of reputation. Additionally, it has won the 2006 InStyle Beauty product award so if this isn't motivation, I dont know what is! :)

Aloe vera helps - also, you can buy some vitamin E capsules (gel caps) puncture the tip and squeeze the liquid contained in the gel onto the palm of your hand then apply to the scar.
