first, make your figure... you can make it in wax, clay, wood, or what ever else you like to work with.

then, make a mold of it... I like to work w/ silicone b/c the resin won't stick to it and so I won't have to use mold release.

Then take out your original from the mold after it cures (there are many different types of mold material and they all have different cure times) All you have left over is the mold and the negative space you will use to fill w/ resin.

Resin comes in 2 parts (most of the time): A and B... mix according to directions (make sure to mix very well or it might not cure properly... scrape the edges of the cup) Pour into your mold and wait to cure.

After it cures, it becomes solid and hard... you can take it out and do what ever you wish... paint it or keep it the way it is or what ever else your little heart desires.

I have a friend in Dallas... Mitch... he's really cool and will help you out w/ all you need to know and where to get all this stuff from:
this is his site: http://brickintheyard.com/

Hope this helps,

you have to make a prototype
then you make a mold from the portotype
then you use the mold and cast a resin one

that how, i think but you can always google it and this is one I found for you

also there are many type of resin, so you might want to look for one thats less toxin and easyier to use.

the first link is better forgeworld
