My husband and I went to see it this evening and concluded that it is not a movie that children should watch; there are numerous instances of sexual innuendo, as well as underlying political and religious messages that your kids may or may not notice, but that would certainly shape their perceptions in small ways. Anyway, having presented my angle, what are your thoughts? If you think it IS suitable for children, why? Disclaimer: I'm not judging anyone who chooses to take their children to see it. What you decide to do within your own family is your business. I'm just sharing what my husband and I thought, and now I am curious to hear others' opinions. So before you start bashing me for being judgmental, realize I'm simply interested in what you have to say.

I have personally not seen the movie, however, several of my friends have gone out to see it (between the ages of 22 and 27) and have said it was hilarious. If an adult generally laughs a lot (and being a friend of mine... not much more to say on that lol!) then it probably has some subject not atuned for children. Often movies come out that are marketed toward children, but have that little something extra for adults to laugh at as well that kids won't typically understand (i.e. Shrek, Shrek 2). Hope this helps.

actually. happy feet is a children's movie.. they do have to make it interesting for all ages to enjoy.. not just children.. but the deeper message is not any religious message or anything like that.. they were hoping that children would see what global warming is doing to the world by making a movie that is as cute and funny as happy feet. it shows all the effects of global warming and other causes going on in the world.. that is what they were trying to get people to see and hopefully if the children understood that, then they would think twice about everything that they do that could make global warming worse and all that

well honestly, i loved it, and im not a child, so yes, there are obviously some things in there not exactly meant for children. however, i dont think that anything in the movie would have had a lasting impression on any child. i also agree with a few of the others saying that obviously the movie has to be appealing to everyone, and the adults need some good stuff too. it cant all be cuddly and cute. so unless your children specifically mentioned the innappropriate things that you say were in the movie, i'd say its fine for children.

1st amendement. freedom of speech- involves freedom of press which involes movies. censorship should NOT be allowed so if you dont want your kids to see the movie, then dont take them, ur question is complete nonsense.
