Please list the series, film, book, etc. in which they are found and tell me why you consider them your favorite. Thanks.

My personal favorites are the Cybermen from "Doctor Who." They were the original "Borg" of the universe. Their emotionless, relentless quest to turn all alien races into Cybermen kept the good Doctor on his toes.

I happen to really enjoy reading Terry Pratchett's Discworld Series -- and my favorite Characters are the Wyrd Sisters (especially Esmeralda Weatherwax, who is the STRONG older Female, eternally single, confidently so, and she just knows that SHE has the POWER and SHE respects the powers she has).

I also enjoy the character of DEATH -- and his struggles with "Humanity" -- trying to understand humanity, and its foibles.

Diana Gabaldon's OUTLANDER series is time travel, from 1946 Scotland to 1743 Scotland. They're not really fantasy, because the only fantastical element is the time travel, but they are good books. And romantic - you have never met a sexier, hunkier, lovelier man in fiction than Jamie Fraser!: - Outlander (called 'Cross-Stitch' in the UK) - Dragonfly in Amber - Voyager - Drums of Autumn - The Fiery Cross - A Breath of Snow & Ashes The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger (have a box of tissues handy) Jasper Fforde's THURSDAY NEXT series (be sure you read the copyright page, all the footnotes, the adverts in the back -it's all relevant! The books are set in an alternate universe where some things are identical with our earth and some things are ..... most definitely not! His books are very funny, but it's a type of funny that sometimes borders on the bizarre.): - The Eyre Affair - Lost in a Good Book - The Well of Lost Plots - Something Rotten - Thursday Next: First Among Sequels The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. This is the King Arthur legend told from the viewpoint of the women. Gregory McGuire's fairy-tale retellings are brilliant: - Wicked - Mirror, Mirror - Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister - Lost The Princess Bride by William Goldman The Fionavar Tapestry Books by Guy Gavriel Kay: - The Summer Tree - The Wandering Fire - The Darkest Road And then there are Katherine Kurtz's Deryni books. Some of these books are out of print and can be hard to find even in a used book store, but it's worth finding them all. To read them by their internal chronology, the order is: * Camber of Culdi * Saint Camber * Camber the Heretic * The Harrowing of Gwynedd * King Javan's Year * The Bastard Prince * In the King's Service * Childe Morgan * Deryni Rising * Deryni Checkmate * High Deryni * The Bishop's Heir * The King's Justice * The Quest for Saint Camber * King Kelson's Bride

I wanna say John Sheppard from Stargate: Atlantis, but that's only because Joe Flanigan is easily the best looking man I've ever seen.

I'm going to go with . . . . Star Trek: The Next Generation and Captain Jean-Luc Picard (of the U.S.S. Enterprise). I can't help it. Patrick Stewart brought so many layers to that character that I still marvel at him.

I like the Linyarri from the Acorna series. Unicorn people!
"The Linyaaris are a peaceful race whose planet, Vhiliinyar, was invaded by the insect-like Khlevii. They fled when their planet was utterly destroyed and settled on a new planet. They are a beautiful race, tall and graceful, with abilities to heal wounds and purify substances such as air and water. They can also communicate telepathically with each other."

Barbara Streisand...listen to her song "People". It's adorable when an alien tries to relate to earthlings.
