before ww2 we really didn't have that big of an army it was the costume to disband the army after a war. hence the draft during ww2. if u look at our weapons before ww2 they were substandard to say the least.

they would train the heavy machine gun crews with wooden guns. and the tank core if u could call it that. had i think about 10 or 13 tanks and these were left over from ww1.

and even when we went to war the germans still had the best of every thing. best tanks the Sherman vs the tiger or the panzer not even close. the only reason that we won against their tanks was because the the Sherman could be mass produced where as the German tanks couldn't.

and they also had better guns as well it was it was well known that allot of the gi's would use German guns instead of the us made guns spicily the sub machine guns

what we learned from all this was that we needed a standing army better weapons and better tanks look at the a-1 abreams
ww2 made us into the kick *** fighting machine we are today

They evolved in the greates way of all, making allies. By participating in the European theatre they made great allies with countries like britain and all the smaller countries that we aided in winning the war. We also advanced by picking up on technologies that were shared with us by our allies.

Maybe it has evolved into more adamant, adventurous and aggressive as in the case of Iraq and other places where it has been involved in indiscriminate fighting, killing, destruction, violation of human rights, international terrorism and common law criminal acts!
