I'm 20 and my fiance and i have been using the withdrawal method for the past year. I haven't had my period for 3 months. I have been under a lot of stress lately with class and finals and huge decisions to make. I've taken a couple pregnancy tests and they were all negative. My period has never been regular but it has become more regular for an average of 6-7 weeks. Then it stopped and i haven't had it since september. I've never been to a gyno; I'm too chicken. Should I go and what do they actually do when I get there? Could it be that something is seriously wrong with me or is it just stress? If it's just stress how long will it take to get my period again? Also when we've had sex, I never got any pleasure: it hurt too much and he was really gentle. Could that be another indication that something is wrong? Please only serious answers, I'm kinda starting to freak out. Thanks.

YOu should first off.. calm down and breathe.. then, go buy a pregnancy test. Or go to planned parenthood and have them give you a test. It can be nerve-wrecking going in.. but you have to do what you have to do... try to stop stressing.. good luck

First of all, the withdrawl method is completely ineffective. You could very well be pregnant. The best thing to do is go to the gynecologist, and have an exam and take a pregnancy test. You are supposed to have annual check-ups starting at the latest around 18 years old to check for sti's, cervical cancer, etc. You will have a breast and pelvic exam when you visit for the first time. It's not terrific, but not painful, either. Most doctors will make you very comfortable. Good luck.

First thing is you need to go to a gyno. Should have already been for health reasons and disease prevention. So do it now. Get your courage up young lady, if you can have sex you can go through that exam. Alot of things could be the reason of your period not being around but you need a pregnancy test and an exam for disease. Protection isn't a hundred percent sure and since your basically not using anything for pregnancy prevention or disease prevention it could be either of them. Go get checked.

One: See an OB/GYN ASAP! Every woman needs to see on starting the year you get your first period.

Two: Stress has a lot to do with your cycle. It messes with your hormonal balances and worry about being pegnant can cause "False Pregnancy" meaning your mind says I'm preggers when you're not.

Three: If you are very thin, this causes cycles to be abnormal too. This is why women athletes have very few if any cycles. Same goes for women who are underweight or anorexic.

You need to go see a GYN. Sex is not supposed to hurt. Stress could be a factor, but it should still come. One question...Does your period last for 6 or 7 weeks or do you get it every six to seven weeks. Both is not normal. You have to keep in mind that everyone is different but on average a period cycle is every 28-30 days lasting 4-6 days. Please get over you fear of a GYN. Your health is important. Please make an appointment ASAP

I used to have similar problems with irregularity. I would go months and not have one, then it would be about every 6 weeks for a while. They never really gave me a reason, until i was trying to get pregnant, and after months of fertility treatment, I finally went to a specialist who told me I have polycystic ovarian syndrom, which wreaks havoc on your hormones, and causes you to not ovulate regularly. In a lot of cases this can be caused by insulin resistance or pre-diabetes. Which could also be a cause for the discomfort you have during sex, since high blood sugar can can cause your mucous membranes to dry out.

You should really go to the Dr. The pull out method NOT the best in birth control at all.

Really need to go to the Dr. and make sure nothing is wrong.

You don't have to get pleasure to get pregnant its big plus and I'm sad for you that you don't but you can still get pregnant.

the best thing to do is go to your doctor because if you are pregnant then you need to start taking prenatal pills...going to the doctor is scary for me to but it's the only way..try taking your fiance with you so you aren't so nervous

First off, get yourself to a gynecologist and let them examine you. They are the experts. Yes, you could be pregnant, even if he doesn't ejaculate inside you. Pre ejaculate contains sperm and semen and it only takes one.

Sometimes, women who are physically fit get a condition called amenorrhea...go to the doctor.
