Sounds possibly like the igniter has gone out, or you have a thermostat/ fuse that has gone bad. go to http://www3.sears.com and look up your model number, also you can go to http://www.repairclinic.com and that site has help tips in there. good luck.

Before calling a repair man I would check to see that the lint filter is CLEAN and the exhaust vent OUTSIDE is not plugged or blocked with lint build up. if this is clean I would call a repair person it could be the heating element.

Call a service man. It could be a variety of components, such as primary or secondary coil, limit switch, heat select switch, ignitor, or a clogged vent stack, among other things.

I agree with ^. Check the outside vent - I'd bet it is plugged with lint. Clean your lint screen by removing it and scrubbing it with soapy water. Using dryer sheets leaves flim over the screen so air won't pass as easily through the vent and screen. Check your lint screen by running water over it...if the water doesn't penetrate the screen, you need to clean it.

I think your element is starting to go. Call your local appliance store and speak to one of their repair men. They will give you a better idea.

Ours did that and it was a fuse. You would think a fuse would be cheap but it cost us $125 to repair

First, have you smelled gas?
If so, call a pro right away after shutting it down.
