female Animator ?

I was just currious how many female Animator are out there. I am hoping to go to westwood college, and they said there are not many females that try to get a bachelor in animation. It was a female that I talked too, and she seemed pretty excited that I was interested in it.

I don't know about currently, but historically there have not been too many female animators. If you are interested, Toonopedia has a section devoted to artists and animators, and while it is far from complete, you may find a number of interesting names and links. There are a few, but they are on the rare side. Most of the women in animation are in the Ink and Paint department

its a male dominated industry, but if you want to go back in history,
there were far more female "animators" than there were males (History of disney) however, most of them were what they call in-betweeners.

today, because of computers, the notion of an animator has fallen onto a male dominated industry.

otherwise, you are going to have to work hard, just like the rest of the class.

in my class there were 3 guys to every female who took it.

It is true that fewer women are in animation or computers overall, and hanging out in classes with lame ole computer boys can get ... annoying. But hey, join the club.

Well, i don't know who many there are, but my sister is studying animation in collage at the moment.
