It's actually good to lay on your left side. It takes pressure off of your aorta, making it (your heart) just a little easier to work. It's also good for pregnant people because of the increase in blood volume during pregnancy

I have a heart problem and at the grand old age of 46 have been going to a cardiologist every 3 months for years. I have even had to wear a 24 hour heart monitor and was hospitalized in October for another condition that aggravated my heart problem so was put on a heart monitor for 4 days in the cardiac unit. I sleep on my left side every night and they have never said anything to me about it.

usually when you have high blood pressure they tell you to lay on your left side so that your heart wont have to work so hard
