I checked out the company, researched it and still lost several thousands of dollars. We really couldn't afford it and are in a really bad position now because of it. I want to try to track down the people behind the scam. I know they have solicited several other people in the US and we're not the only ones who lost money. Does anyone know of any way to track down a scam/fraudulent company? I know the chances are slim, but I have to try!

If the have a web site, you can check the domain registration - go to http://www.internic.net and do a "whois' search on the web name.

Of course, they may not have used the correct information, or the registration may be thru a third party, but its something to check out.

At the very least, you can get the name of the company that registered the domain - you won't be able to get details out of them, but the police most likely could.

If the scam was done online (via email solicitation, etc) you can report them to the FBI - they run an internet crime complaint center at http://www.ic3.gov/ go there and see what your options are.
