I have worked on and been around Audi's for years and have never seen anything like this. First for the brakes not to work would mean a hydraulic leak. The ABS pump only comes on in extreme stopping conditions and even when it fails the brakes still work. In my old 5000 you could turn the ABS off and it still stopped fine. Also it is hard to believe that when you part the car in drive it still went backwards.

Take it to the garage. If you have regular problems your brakes likely need repairs. However, sometimes the brakes don't work because when backing up the driver is looking backward and has part of their foot on the brake and the acceleraton at the same time.

Have it looked at before it is too late, cheaper to have it fixed than to have accident
