Why is this in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered? Are you in a same sex marriage? Not that it matters just wondering. Now seriously, the best thing to do is figure out which kindof snoring they have (yes there's different kinds) either it's caused in their nose or their throat and then get them the approprate product from the store, either a throat spray or the nasal strips. They work wonders! But get the right kind (aka don't get the nose strips if they need the throat spray) or else they don't work at all.

Also you might consider taking him to a doctor to get it checked out it could be sleep apnea which cn be a serious medical condition!

There is a good chance that your husband suffers from sleep apnea. apnea recurs during sleep and is caused especially by obstruction of the airway or a disturbance in the brain's respiratory center. Your husband's snoring may be him trying to get air. The sleep clinic at your hospital can test him and let you know for sure

My hubby has sleep apnea and we found out that it was causing his heart to stop beating for up to a minute in the night. He had a stroke 10 years ago and 7 heart attacks since then. Not to mention the HORRIBLE snoring which drove me to the sofa many a night. Now he has to sleep in a recliner which keeps him upright enough so the apnea is better and his heart problem is better too. I'm sleeping better then ever too!

Is your husband gay? Sorry wrong department...

But maybe the snoring may be caused by too much stress, and the famous apnea... Try to make him some sleep aid tea before he goes to bed.

1. He can spray his throat with that stuff you can get over the counter.
2. He can use the nose strips with metholatem medication in it.
3. Have him checked by his doctor for health problems his breathing is not normal if he's snoring.

Please get him to a doctor ASAP. Loud snoring is very often a symptom of sleep apnea, a serious condition that could damage his heart or even kill him. It is easily stopped by using a night breathing aid called a CPAP machine, and almost all insurance will pay for it.

Please do not delay - sleep clinics often have long waiting lists, and he needs to be diagnosed ASAP to prevent serious damage to his health.

As for pinching, kicking, smothering, etc - he can't help it! Once he's on CPAP you'll both sleep well again.

See if you can convince him to go to the doctor. There is a simple surgery that will correct this. There are also those nasal strips that are suppose to help (the type that go across your nose to keep your nostrils open).
You may want to lay a tape recorder near him so he can hear how loud he really is. If that doesn't convince him to go to the doctor, or at least try the strips--the next step is separate bedrooms.

I feel for you becuase Lord knows I have this problem. I tell him to sleep on his side. When he does that, he snores a lot less.

get earplugs that block out ALL sound! or sleep with a loud fan, it might take away from the snore sounds and the sound of the fan is kinda soothing!
