I'm a poor Republican, does this mean I treat myself badly? Well, if you consider drinking too much being bad to yourself, then I'm guilty as charged

First of all, how can you generalize by saying that, "Christian Republicans", treat all poor and minorities poorly? Did you know that the president who freed the slaves was a Republican? (Abraham Lincoln). Did you know that the first African American to serve out the term of Jefferson Davis was a republican? (Hiram Revels-Miss.) Did you know the first African American senator elected to the senate by popular vote was a republican? (Brooke-Mass.) Did you know that the first African American male(Democrat) senator elected since (1877) was elected in (2004)? (Barack Obama) These are just a few. There are many, many other contributions made by both Democrat's and Republicans. As far as the space project, every president since it’s conception has earmarked funds to support ongoing space research.

No, I’m not a Republican, nor do I endorse the party. The issue that I have with you is, that you make generalizations without knowing the facts!

I'm a Christian Republican and I have a real need to help the poor and the minorities but I also realize they need to start helping themselves too. Giving them the Democratic welfare handouts only encourages them to stay in the condition they are in rather than try to better themselves. As for minorities what special treatment do they have comming??? I don't owe any minority group anything more than I do anybody. They aren't victims unless they choose to be and I choose not to give them special treatment because I don't expect to get special treatment. You must be true blue demo with your kind of thinking,

And you treat them better- hum mm! The Republicans have not always been in control but schools have always been under funded & universal health care will get us the same crummy health care that Canada has. No profit for doctors mean the brightest will go to another career - all of them are not in it to heal the world, talk to a few surgeons or specialist over dinner. I have talked with them & money is important but the goverment is not known for high pay.
Christians accept Jesus Christ as their Savior not high taxes.
We call it charity work not forced service through taxes.

canada has universal health care and you have to get on a waiting list to see the doctor. we have one of the best health care systems in the world. as far as better schools until you get rid of the teachers unions it will never happen. wasnt it republicans who wanted to give vouchers so you could choose the school you want your children to attend? I am assuming you are a liberal so instead of griping bout tax cuts, like i'm sure you do, at the end of the year on your tax return check that you want to pay extra so i dont have to, and im a poor democrate who votes republican. The government doesnt need to help the poor, the poor needs to help themselves with help from the churches

Not hardly, buddy.

I am conservative and poor. I don't agree with the liberal ways for increased taxes to pay for health care. I don't have an unlimited supply of money to pay for it.

I am far from greedy. I have given away about everything that I have ever had.

I also don't treat people or minorities poorly.

You are generalizing way too much.

You are assuming, falsely, that all conservatives are wealthy. Let me assure you that is not the case. How can you even possibly say that? I am a poor conservative, but I don't think it's your responsibility to support my family.

I also don't think that it's your responsibility to pay for my health care with half of what you make.

If they took half of my paycheck for taxes like they do in Canada, my kids would starve. There is no way we could make ends meet.

Because in the end we put our own personal needs ahead of others. Sure you can say you want to diminish crime in the slums, but if you don't live there, do you really want it that bad. Religion isn't much about beliefs systems for most people now a days it's a convenience thing. You believe when you need to, to look better to your friends and your community but when it comes down to it you don't give a damn about anything going on in the world around you as long as it doesn't mess things ups for you . It's sad but not just a republican thing. It's kinda human nature, even the people who feel bad about poverty and starvation can't really care because they are in their nice suburban homes, with warm beds, healthy bank accounts, and a fridge full of groceries. It's hard to truly feel something for a cause you haven't experienced yourself.

Conservatives never want government health care because it does not work and is too expensive. It is not the government's job to provide this. You want it, pay for it yourself.

Better schools are not achieved by more money. Privatize them and do the job right for a fraction of the cost.

I will keep my money and you can give your money to these programs.

Good Question. I've been wondering about that myself. It's a personna they have worked hard on establishing with no real committment. It has worked so well for them politically that they they actually believe they are the party of faith and morals. It certainly became apparent that the charade caught up with them in the recent elections. For all the lip service" I'm a faith based republican" they should actually read the bible especially the Letter Of St. James...Faith without good acts is nothing...talk is nothing without action. One perfect example is the the evangelical minister who , debased homosexuality from the pulpit and was caught having sexual relations with another man..a gay man...and this "minister" had a family of a wife and 5 children...and he was a "Faith Based" Republican who made large contributions to the republican political agenda...and it goes on ...Jailed republican congressional members and an Administration that lied the American people into war with another country ..Iraq...that we should not have invaded.."Faith Based" distortions of the truth...enough for now..but there is plenty more to answer your question.

Because they're politicians and neither conservative nor Christian. I know it's fashionable to bash politicians, but you really shouldn't judge an entire political party because of the actions of a few.

If you did, Democrats and Republicans, conservatives and liberals would all be disgusting sex addicts who accept bribes and hate everyone. Did it ever occur to you that actual practicing Christians who are also Republicans donate to things called "Charities?" I'm told their useful.

About school reform, Republicans are all for it. However, they are NOT for dumping money out of planes so the principals can redecorate your office. If you want that, hey, be my guest.
