He gives her a ring from a Cracker Jack box to be engraved at Tiffany's. It was the cheapest thing you could purchase at the store.

Ok no she has the cat before she meets him. The first real gift he gives her is his book that he wrote called "Nine Lives" because she had shown an interest in it the night before. He does give her the cracker jack ring that he had engraved at Tiffany's, but he gives it to her at the end of the movie...he is in love with her. Thats all I can think of, hope it helps...

You cant get this publication at any division and publication retailer. Some shops I could check out could be, Target, Wal-Mart, Borders, Barns and Nobel, and some other regional bookstores you would have to your the town.

I seem to remember that he gives her his first cheque that he had ever received as an author - a $50.00 cheque.
Why? He was bitter at her and angry & wanted to shame her. (She usually received $50. for the washroom attendant from her dates.)
