Methadone is a harmful substance that should -not- be prescribed while pregnant.. If you were prescribed methadone - Sue your damn doctor for neglagence.
Otherwise you would -not- have been prescribed.. and the state will know this..

It depends on the situation. If the mother of the child is addicted and in a rehab program, and the infant was born addicted, then the mother may have been advised to breast feed to gradually wean the child off opioids without going through as severe of a physical withdrawal. Also, if the mother is in a prescribed pain management program and has a valid prescription for methadone, then it only makes sense that the child would have methadone in its system at birth. However, if the mother does NOT have a prescription for methadone and is not participating in a rehab program under medical supervision, then she has been taking drugs illegally during pregnancy, and that is cause for social services to intervene.

Yes, that means you did drugs while pregnant. Thats child abuse. And the state may find you unfit.
