From my experience, lots of men like to come up and just start rubbing themselves on my back side when I dance. It's really disgusting and honestly I'd rather dance alone or with a girlfriend. Any suggestions?

They do it because this behavoiur was positively reinforced by other females. That is, instead of telling them off, girls danced with them. This is why they think it's OK.
My suggestion is walk away from his rubbing when it happens. Just stop dancing and take a few steps to get away from him. That will make him look stupid. He'll be very puzzled when you just leave and won't do it to you again. Moreover, other guys who see it will understand that they can't do it with you.
It is true that the clubs are too loud for a conversation like some guys here said, but why not dance face-to-face first, why not make eye contact? Yeah, they do it because they are afraid that with eye conact you will say "no" with your eyes. So they start rubbing at your back side instead.

The truth of the matter is you are going to a club for at least some interaction with people otherwsie you would stay at home. In a club the main purpose is to dance as well as mingle with other people, and many guys believe it or not are uneasy enough as it is to ask a girl to dance find it a bit easier to come up from behind. If you respond by dancing still then they don't feel as uncomfortable, and eventually feel that you may even have an interest. It is a subtle approach that alleviates rejection some times, and men find that better.

People, both men and women, believe this is how you start dancing with someone. I have girls come up to me and start rubbing on my back every time I go dancing, so I can understand why other men would do so.

That being said I assume these idiots are trying to hit on you ....and the reverse would be worse ....how would you feel if no one ever hit on you sorta bad i bet...go to better bars , dance with really big guys instead of other women these guys might be attracted to,or develop some really clever lines that will throw them off their game like...mmmm .... "Most guys don't like to rub on girls with AIDS,SARS or BIRD FLU"... and make sure to give them the number for the CDC (center for disease control) instead of your phone number ...
Dancing with a girl without her permission is OK but rubbing themselves on you deserves a quick and painful response ...I.E. a tazer to the buttocks...
