If you know the girl well and think she wont cheat then birth control, otherwise you should strap and avoid disease...
Most of the time you should use a condom because some girls trick men into believing they would abort... And guess what happens next!!!! Your a daddy!!! And your stuck with this booty call and a shotgun wedding... YADDADIMEAN????

Condoms help protect you from getting sexually transmitted diseases. Other forms of birth control do not.

No form of birth control is 100% effective, but condoms and the pill are both highly effective.

Some people use both the pill and condoms for added birth control protection.

There are many alternative forms of over-the-counter birth control. Talk to you doctor about what is right for you.

DO NOT rely on less conventional methods such as the clock method (strategically having sex without birth control but trying to "time" encounters coinciding with certain times of the menstrual cycle). Also do NOT rely on the withdrawal method (where the penis is removed right before ejactualation) as semen CAN still enter the vagina. Also, you never truly know if he'll pull out in time.

As a man I feel it's my responsibility to wear a condom, regardless of whether my girlfriend is on the pill or not. I also feel that it's a good idea for the woman to use a second form of contraception, whether it be the pill or a spermicidal cream (not a female condom though, these don't work when used with a male condom).

Don't compromise when it comes to contraception. Multiple forms are always more effective than just one.

Condoms are for both birth control and STD protection so I'd choose that if I had to - but no birth control is 100% effective except not having sex. So to be 100% sure I might try both. If you already have children and just don't want any more for a while then there is an IUD too, but they can be expensiev and you shouldn't get one unless you already have kids and don't want any for 5+ years.

Birth Control if taken properly are more effective.....Condoms have like a 40% chance that they will work properly and thats due to people not using them properly or buying the wrong size on accident and not realizing it. The wrong size condom could fall off, break, be too tight and cause you to just take it off out of frustration. There is birth control out there that is implanted inside you and you can't get pregnant for 5 years. You also never have to remember to take the pill or go the problems with your hormones being too high becuase it is low hormones, and low estrogen. Its so low that a nursing mother can take it and it wont cause problems with her baby. Hope this helps!

Well birth control not only works better, but it feels better. The thing with birth control is that anytime you put hormones in your body, the reaction can't really be predicted. It took me awhile to get used to it. BUT if you're not in a monogamous relationship, then I would say condoms. The STD protection is vital is you're sleeping with different people.

There are a lot of forms of birth control that are more effective than condoms. I have seen them break. That is no fun. No birth control is much fun because you are messing with mother nature. But condoms are too scarey for effectiveness.

The birth control pill is bad for you. The implants are worse, if they are even on the market anymore.

Condoms and spermicidal lubricant, when used properly, are supposed to be the most effective, as far as I know.

I hate the idea of unnecessary surgery, but it may be the most practical solution. What about vasectomy, or getting the tubes tied/cut?

Be well.

edited to add: I have read horror stories from women who took depo shots, and were sick for a year or more, and had to go on special diets etc.. to improve their health.

I think it's a toss up as far as effectiveness if that's all you're going for provided you use a condom every single time without exception and take the pill at the same time every day no matter what. Personally I'd rather not screw around with my hormones so I'd take the condoms.
