IMAX is just like a movie theatre.

IMAX Dome is where the film is shown on the dome, so it feels like you're surrounded by whatever it is you're watching. Say you're watching a film on the Great Barrier Reef. You should have the film surround you 360 degrees, so that you feel like you're actually in the Great Barrier Reef. You also sit sort of isolated from other people so it feels like you're the only one there.

IMAX 3D is when you wear those goofy glasses so that the film looks 3D.
